HOOPER QUEST 32
HQ32

The System

HooperQuest32. The philosophy. The standard. Every rep, every possession, every game.

e

Compounding Growth

Small improvements compounded possession after possession. Growth is exponential when you show up every time.

🏀

The Possession

Every possession is a finite window — 32 seconds — and an unlimited opportunity to create growth. Use it.

π

Infinite Pursuit

π never ends. Neither does the pursuit of mastery. There is always another level to reach.

32

The Present Possession

32 seconds. Finite. Right now. The only moment that exists is the one you're in. Make it count.

"Every basketball possession compounds growth in the endless pursuit of mastery."
ONE POSSESSION.  INFINITE GROWTH.  ENDLESS PURSUIT.

More Than a League.
A Philosophy.

HooperQuest32 is a basketball league and a personal growth philosophy expressed through sport. We exist for every player who understands that the game is bigger than any single win — that growth compounds through action, time is limited, and every possession is a finite window to become better.

We built this for the community. The grinders. The ones who show up, compete with class, and pursue mastery without an end date. No trash talk. No ego. Just ball, growth, and the relentless, infinite pursuit.

The possession is finite. The quest is not.

🕐 Game Format & Timing

1
Formats available: 3v3 and 4v4. Players select their format at signup. 4v4 is the default — if one or both teams are short, the game drops to 3v3.
2
Game structure: All games are played in 2 halves of 10 minutes each. 3-minute halftime break between halves.
3
Shot clock: Each possession is 32 seconds. Failure to attempt a shot before the clock expires results in a turnover.
4
Tiebreaker — Shootout: If the score is tied at the end of regulation, every player (active + sub) shoots one shot each from beyond the arc. Team with the most makes wins. 3v3 = 4 shooters per team 4v4 = 5 shooters per team — If still tied: sudden death — one shooter each, alternating, until one makes and the other misses.

⚖️ Foul System

1
Free foul calls: Each player is granted 3 free foul calls per game. These are accepted without challenge — no questions asked.
2
Challenge threshold: Once a player has used all 3 free foul calls, any foul call from the 4th foul onward may be challenged by the defensive player.
3
How a challenge works: If the defensive player (Player B) disagrees with the foul called by the offensive player (Player A), Player B may declare a challenge. Player B then selects any one player from Player A's team to attempt a 3-point shot from behind the arc.
4
Challenge — Shot made: If the selected shooter makes the 3-pointer, the challenge fails. Player A's team retains possession. The shot clock resets to whichever is greater: the remaining time on the clock or a minimum reset of 20 seconds.
Example: foul called at 21 sec → keep 21 sec. Foul called at 3 sec → reset to 20 sec.
5
Challenge — Shot missed: If the selected shooter misses the 3-pointer, the challenge succeeds. The foul call is overturned. Player B's team gains possession with a fresh 32-second shot clock. This is treated as a turnover.
6
Protecting against abuse: To prevent teams from exploiting players who cannot shoot from distance, the defensive team may only select the same player a maximum of 2 times per game as the challenge shooter, and never back-to-back.
7
Foul out rule: A player who reaches 6 fouls must sit out for 1 full possession (32 seconds). If the team has no eligible substitutes, the player sits the full possession before returning.

👨‍👩‍👧 Minor Participant Policy

1
Minimum age is 15. Players must be at least 15 years old to register and participate in HooperQuest32. Players under 15 will not be accepted regardless of skill level or parental permission.
2
Under-13 hard block. In compliance with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), no personal data is collected from players under 13 years of age. Under-13 signups are blocked entirely.
3
Parental consent is mandatory for players aged 15–17. A parent or legal guardian must review and sign the HQ32 Minor Participant Consent & Waiver before the minor's registration is activated. The minor's registration is not complete until parental consent is received.
4
Parent/guardian contact required. A reachable parent or guardian phone number must be provided at registration. This number must be available during all game days in case of emergency.
5
Media consent for minors. Publishing video, photos, or highlights featuring a minor requires explicit written consent from a parent or guardian. This is collected as part of the parental consent form. Minors whose parents have not consented to media will not be featured in any published content.
6
Code of conduct applies fully. Minor participants are held to the same HQ32 Code of Conduct as adult players. No trash talk, no attitude, no fighting. Parents and guardians are encouraged to review the code of conduct with their child before game day.
7
The Keeper reserves the right to remove any minor participant from the league if their safety, wellbeing, or the safety of others is at risk — regardless of parental consent status.

🤝 Conduct & Sportsmanship

1
No trash talk. Period. HooperQuest32 is a zero-tolerance environment for trash talk. If your opponent makes a tough shot — acknowledge it, compliment it, and move on. Good energy only. We are here to compete and grow, not to tear each other down.
2
No attitude. Attitude, theatrics, and intimidation have no place here. Good sportsmanship is not optional — it is the standard. Celebrate your own plays with class, and respect your opponent's.
3
No fighting. Any physical altercation results in immediate removal from the game and potential suspension from HooperQuest32.
4
Honor the system. The foul system runs on the honor system. Call fouls honestly. Abusing foul calls disrespects the game and the community.
5
Accept decisions. Once a challenge outcome is determined (shot made or missed), the call is final. No further disputes on that possession.
6
Show up. If you sign up for a team, you commit to showing up. Notify your team as early as possible if you can't make it. No-shows without notice affect everyone.
7
Represent HQ32. On and off the court, you carry the HooperQuest32 name. Play hard. Play right. Grow every possession.

FAQ

HooperQuest32 runs 3v3 and 4v4 formats. You pick your preferred format at signup. 4v4 is the default — if one or both teams are short on game day, the game drops to 3v3.
Games are played in 2 halves of 10 minutes each — same for both 3v3 and 4v4. There is a 3-minute halftime break and a 32-second shot clock per possession.
Each player gets 3 free foul calls per game — no challenge, no questions. From the 4th foul call onward, the defensive player may challenge it. A challenge means one player from the fouling team shoots a 3-pointer. Shot made → fouling team keeps the ball (min 20 sec shot clock). Shot missed → defending team gets the ball with a fresh 32-sec clock. It's a turnover.
The Arrow is the Judge. When a call can't be proven — out of bounds, last touch, contested possession — we don't argue. We go to the Dispute Arrow. A coin flip at the start of every game determines which team holds the first arrow. When a dispute occurs, the arrow team gets possession immediately. No discussion, no override. The arrow then switches to the other team after every use. Refusing to respect the arrow is a conduct violation.
Tied games go to a shootout. Every player — active roster and sub — takes one shot each from beyond the arc. Most makes wins. If still tied: sudden death — one shooter per team alternating until one makes and the other misses.
No cost. HooperQuest32 is a free community tournament. We're here to build a hooper community — not make money. All you need to bring is your game and your respect.
No. Zero tolerance. If your opponent hits a tough shot — acknowledge it and move on. HQ32 is built on respect, good sportsmanship, and love for the game. Trash talk, attitude, and ego have no place here.
Yes. Games will be filmed for tournament and game highlights, curated for every player. By signing up, you consent to being recorded and featured in HooperQuest32 content. If you have concerns, reach out before signing up.
Yes — the minimum age is 15. Players under 13 cannot join under any circumstances. Players aged 15–17 require a parent or legal guardian to sign a consent form before their registration is complete. The consent covers physical participation, injury risk, and media/video recording. Players under 18 will be prompted through this process automatically at signup.
Yes — uniform is required to play. Every player must wear the same shirt color and design as their team, with the HQ32 logo on it. You can buy an official team jersey from our merch shop, or make your own shirt and apply an HQ32 iron-on patch (also available in the shop). Players without the correct uniform will not be permitted to play.
Absolutely. If you want to get your shirt made elsewhere, that's fine — just make sure the color matches your team's assigned color and that you have the official HQ32 iron-on patch applied to it. Patches are available in the HQ32 merch shop.
We are currently working through the Parks & Recreation temporary event permit process to secure an official court for the 4-day Pilot Tournament. We want a guaranteed, reliable space for every player — not a first-come-first-served situation. Location and dates will be announced once the permit is confirmed. Sign up and you'll be the first to know.
